Q: where is the alternator in a car
A:The alternator is almost always mounted to the front of the engine, low down and off to one side.
You can find it by looking for a pulley on its front that is connected to the serpentine belt-the long, winding rubber belt that is also connected to the engine's main crankshaft pulley.
